Girl charged with murder in fatal NYC stabbing of Emery Mizell over social media feud: sources

A relentless social media bullying campaign against a Bronx teenager ended in horror when she was stabbed to death by an alleged rival on the street in broad daylight, police and law enforcement officials said.

Police said Emery Mizell, 17, was stabbed in the chest with a knife on Boynton Street near Watson Street in the Soundview neighborhood around 2:15 p.m. Thursday.

Authorities said Mizell, who lived several blocks from the scene of the attack, was rushed to Jacobi Medical Center, where he died.

Police said three people were initially taken into custody, including a 15-year-old boy who was eventually charged with murder, manslaughter and illegal possession of a weapon.

The arrested girl’s name has not been released because she is a minor.

Police say Mizell and her alleged killer are involved in an ongoing dispute.

“Emmy, I love you so much, baby. We will all miss you,” she wrote.

“You are such a beautiful soul and you have so much life ahead of you. I know you are in the best possible place right now. I would do anything for the chance to hold you and tell you I love you one more time. Rest in peace, our sweet angel.”

The violence occurred about two months after Lakwai Dash, 17, also of the Bronx, was shot and killed after getting into an argument with his girlfriend and another woman on social media, police said and the victim, a young man, was shot to death. The family announced this at the time.

Dash, a young football player looking forward to a trip to Spain with his senior class, was shot by the girl’s boyfriend, his family said.
