An Arizona girl, who vanished at 13 and was long feared abducted, has been found alive, now living a peaceful life as a married mother of three and working for a private detective agency. Reports indicate that Christina “Tina” Marie Plante, now 45, resides in Springfield, Missouri, quite a distance from where she disappeared back in 1994, having created a new life after leaving home as a teenager.
Plante, as per the reports, married young and has raised three sons. She also earned a psychology degree from Missouri State University and currently works in a supervisory position at a local firm specializing in investigating insurance fraud. She lives in a five-bedroom home with her husband, Sean Hollon, who manages software engineering.
Her husband mentioned that Tina is adapting to the renewed attention following her identification. He revealed he had shared her story with him before their 1998 marriage, although he preferred not to elaborate on the details to the public. Authorities noted that Plante has been hesitant to recount how she went missing.
Jim Lahti, Chief Deputy at the Gila County Sheriff’s Office, stated that she did not clarify who she was with when she left or how she managed to leave town. She acknowledged that she ran away, alluding to contact with another family member during that time.
Plante was last seen on May 15, 1994, around noon, as she departed her home in Star Valley, mentioning she was heading to a nearby stable. When she did not return, her case quickly turned into one of a missing person under suspicious conditions, sparking extensive searches and investigations amid fears of kidnapping. Fortunately, those fears were not substantiated, and the case was eventually resolved.
Years later, cold case teams revived the investigation utilizing modern tools like social media and public records, ultimately identifying Plante and confirming she was alive. Jamie Garrett, a cold case investigator, speculated that she ran away due to dissatisfaction with her living situation and those around her. He expressed surprise upon learning she had not been abducted but had instead chosen to leave.
Despite many details surrounding her departure being murky, officials have concluded that the case is now solvable, with Plante having rebuilt a stable life while choosing to keep much of her past private.
