Glenn Beck and Tucker Carlson discuss spiritual battle playing out in politics: ‘That’s Satan’s plan’

Glenn Beck He joined Tucker Carlson in Salt Lake City on Saturday for his fourth visit. Carlson's Live Tour Across America, they discussed the current political situation, the “end times,” and the spiritual battle between good and evil.

“I've sat down with Bible scholars, real scholars, and they've taught me about the end times, and I kept thinking, 'This sounds familiar. I think I'm seeing some of it right now,'” Beck told Carlson.

“We are continuing to fight the same battle we've been fighting since the beginning.”

“It feels like the end times, and there are plenty of indications that it could be soon,” he added.

“What makes you think this was predicted?” Carlson asked.

“It's the breakdown of society,” Beck responded. “Just the breakdown of women. It's horrifying how evil it is. It's astonishing how evil it is.”

The president continued, “There is more good than bad, but we aren't standing up. We're going to stand up and say, loud and clear: 'That's wrong. That's bad. And it's not going to happen around me while I'm in office. Period.'”

During the hour-long conversation, they discussed how some politicians are “working for evil” by promoting sex-reassignment surgery for children, defending abortion and opposing free speech.

“If only our churches would just say, 'Go vote and use the Bible to decide right from wrong,'” Beck said.

“We are fighting the same battle we've been fighting since the beginning. It's a battle as old as the Tower of Babel, it's a battle as old as when the devil was cast out,” he said.

“What did Satan say? 'Father, I will bring them all back to you. I will bring them all back, but I want the honor. I will tell them what to do, and you will not lose any of them,'” Beck continued, quoting the Book of Mormon. “Jesus said, 'Send me. They will make mistakes, but I will sacrifice myself. I will die so that they may live again.' Which did God choose? Jesus.”

Beck explained how some politicians are furthering Satan's strategy.

“We're having the same argument,” he said. “All the politicians are saying: 'Give me credit. I'll tell them exactly what to do. Nobody gets hurt. Nobody runs with a stick that might poke them in the eye. Nobody carries a gun. And if that doesn't work, nobody carries a knife. Nobody has a choice because nobody can fail, because if they fail there will be problems. That's Satan's plan. That's not Jesus' idea.'”

“God believes in individual choice,” Beck said.

“You can either worry about the problem or you can overcome it and put it in its rightful place — you put the problem in the rearview mirror because you've learned from it and it no longer affects you. That's God's plan,” he added.

Carlson and Beck also spoke about the recent assassination attempt on Republican presidential candidate and former President Donald Trump.

“As a fiction writer, I would say it was an operation. They were trying to assassinate the president of the United States,” Beck replied.

“I think we can safely say that the Biden administration allowed that to happen. They literally allowed it to happen. Whether they knew about it or not, they allowed it to happen,” Carlson said.
