Donald Trump has stated that “nations globally” are engaging with the Trump administration following the tariff announcement.
He mentioned that the Prime Minister of Japan “is dispatching a top team for negotiations!”
Nations worldwide are in communication with us. It has strict but just conditions. This morning, I talked to the Prime Minister of Japan. He is sending a top team to negotiate! They have treated the United States very unfairly in trade. They don’t accept our cars, yet we import millions of theirs. Agriculture as well, and many other “issues”. All of this needs adjustment, especially regarding China!!!
“Over 50 nations are reaching out to negotiate this new strategy with the president,” stated a White House economic advisor.
Leading White House economic advisors confirmed on April 6 that more than 50 nations had reached out to the Trump administration, initiating negotiations on a broad array of tariffs introduced in nearly every country during the first week of April.
In an interview with ABC News “This Week,” Kevin Hassett, head of the White House National Economic Council, stated that “more than 50 nations have been attempting to negotiate this new strategy with the president” since the tariffs were unveiled.
“They recognize that they owe significant tariffs, thus they do,” he conveyed to the news outlet.
Trump has remained steadfast.
