NFL Players to Compete in Flag Football at 2028 Olympics
Exciting news for sports fans! The NFL’s Spring League meeting saw a significant resolution passed on Tuesday. Observers noted a unanimous vote, with all 32 teams supporting the idea of allowing players to compete in Team USA’s Flag Football Teams during the upcoming 2028 Summer Olympics in Los Angeles.
Each NFL roster can send one player, along with designated international players from various teams who are eligible to represent their countries.
Commissioner Roger Goodell expressed enthusiasm about this development during a media briefing. He highlighted that this move could transform how NFL football, along with soccer, is perceived globally. “I think that’s the right thing to do. This is a major step in achieving that,” he stated.
Troy Vincent, the NFL’s vice president of football operations, echoed Goodell’s sentiments, calling it an exhilarating opportunity to showcase America’s beloved game on an international platform.
The national Olympic committees will be responsible for selecting the ten-player rosters for each country.
Looking forward to seeing how it all unfolds—wonder what the US team’s roster will look like? It might be a bit wild!
