Gold Star families are outraged by the lies President Joe Biden told during Thursday’s presidential debate, when he declared that no U.S. military personnel had been killed during his presidency — a lie that has left slain soldiers’ families feeling “beyond angry” and “not respected.”
During his first presidential debate with former President Donald Trump, Biden sought to tout his foreign policy successes.
“The fact is, I’m the only president this century, this decade, who hasn’t had a soldier die like that anywhere in the world,” Biden falsely claimed.
The statement proved to be a lie.
Sixteen U.S. troops have been killed in attacks overseas since Biden took over the White House.
Biden tried to cover up the disastrous consequences of the Afghan withdrawal, which left 13 American soldiers dead in Kabul on August 26, 2021.
In January, three US soldiers were killed in an attack in Jordan.
“Didn’t he remember checking his watch over and over again?”
Gold Star families have slammed Biden for lying about or forgetting about the deaths of loved ones who died overseas while serving their country.
Mark Schmitz (whose son, Marine Corporal Jared Schmitz, was killed in the Afghanistan withdrawal operation) New York Post“My phone was ringing for like 20 minutes after that call came through and everyone was in shock. And there were some poor kids in the next room and I ended up having to apologise to them for my language. I had to control myself not to stick my fist through the TV.”
“I went beyond anger to a lack of respect, and that’s all we’ve got from this president,” Schmitz added.
Steve Nikoui, father of Marine Corporal Kareem Nikoui, who was also killed in Kabul, said of Biden, “I saw it, and I was shocked like everybody else, but I wasn’t surprised. I’m glad the rest of America can see what we’ve been working on over the last three years.”
Christy Shamblin, the mother-in-law of Marine Sergeant Nicole Gee, who was killed at Kabul airport, said of President Biden, “His leadership has been reckless and weak and will continue to result in the deaths of Americans. Equally shocking is the fact that an entire administration has turned its back on him and continues to be promoted and rewarded in silence.”
Darin Huber, whose son, Staff Sergeant Darin Taylor Huber, was killed in Kabul, said of Biden’s lies during the debate, “When Biden said that no service members had been killed under his command, I yelled at what I was hearing. I knew what I had heard, but I couldn’t believe he would say that. Has he forgotten about our 13 children?”

Many Gold Star families who lost loved ones in the botched Afghanistan withdrawal harbor ill feelings toward Biden because of his behavior during a dignified transfer ceremony at Dover Air Force Base in 2021.
Jeanna McCollum, widow of Marine Lance Corporal Riley McCollum, reportedly said Biden shifted his attention from her husband’s murder to talking about the military service and death of her veteran son, Beau Biden, from brain cancer.
“The family felt the conversation was scripted, shallow, and lasted just a few minutes with no consideration for the death of a Marine,” McCallum’s sister said.
Biden was also seen looking down at his watch during the solemn transfer ceremony, also infuriating Gold Star families.
