No one knew what TGL was going to be like or what was going to happen.
But midway through the season opener between New York Golf Club and The Bay Golf Club, everyone is excited about golf's latest venture.
The pace of play was great, unlike many PGA Tour and LPGA events. This amazing technology has already achieved amazing results. ESPN's Matt Barry's conversations with each player were insightful and smooth. The “Green Zone”, which is an actual green with a short game area, created a lot of drama. Nothing was more important than Windham Clark's putt on the third hole that earned Bay two points.
A 40-second shot clock is also a great variable. Not only does everything have to move quickly, but it also adds drama. When the shot clock reaches 15 seconds, a heartbeat sounds throughout the arena. The sound then gets louder as it approaches zero. Imagine that happening during a PGA Tour event. That would create great theater and tension for both fans and players.
Fans also agree with this opinion. So far, most of the posts on X have been positive.
Great pace, great crowd, great atmosphere.
I am trying my best @TGL

TGL's unique hall is loved by fans. Some look realistic, others look like they could be on Mars. Either way, the 15 unique holes used within the match help create interesting products.
love @TGL so far! !
The crazy holes and the fact that the green moves and adjusts its slope from hole to hole is really cool!
So far this new concept is working well

Two holes in and I think I'm in love @TGL!
I think it will appeal to people other than golf fans. The hole design is different from regular holes and is unique. Using a shot clock makes things go much faster. It's like a darts tournament. #TGL

Pace of play is very popular:
This TGL is amazing. It's so fast

I was skeptical about TGL, but given its speed, graphics, and play, I completely agree with this.

@TGL It's already dangerous! He will be very active in the match.

opening night @TGL I tuned it! The amazing thing that technology has brought to the game is that golf is the greatest sport of all time. I love being here for the new wave. Shout out Old Tom Morris
