Golf influencer Tishaarin recently shared insights about her career and her venture into the world of social media.
Golf is a sport where competition is fierce. While a few golfers make it to the prestigious PGA or LPGA tour, many find themselves on smaller circuits like Corn Ferry or Epson Tours, or even explore options with Liv Golf.
One standout is Tisha Alyn, who has become a prominent figure in the golfing community. With a following of over 1.3 million on TikTok and 519,000 on Instagram, she’s clearly making her mark alongside notable names like Paige Spiranac and Grace Charis.
Alyn began her journey in sports quite young, starting at just three years old and competing by the age of seven. She competed at California State Fullerton, reaching NCAA Division 1 as she progressed from junior golf.
“Golf has always been my main focus,” Alyn shared in an interview. “Before this, I was a dancer, and though I like to share some fun dance trends with my audience, golf remains my priority.” She added that golf is a demanding sport that requires time and commitment, with an emphasis on competing at high levels to secure scholarships and opportunities.
From 2015 to 2018, Alyn played professionally, but encountered financial challenges that influenced her next steps. During her career, she recognized the importance of social media, especially as platforms like Instagram gained traction.
“I aim to leverage social media for sponsorship and other paid opportunities,” she mentioned, reflecting on how her career transitioned alongside the rise of digital platforms.
As she navigated her professional golf journey, Alyn faced personal challenges that influenced her path. “Despite the difficulties, I realized social media was evolving, what with the lack of influencers at the time,” she explained. “It felt like a different game altogether.”
Maintaining focus is key for Alyn, who acknowledged the mixed responses social media can bring. “Staying focused on my goals is essential. I thrive on positivity, but it’s a challenge everywhere online,” she admitted. Acknowledging her friendship with Paige Spiranac, she expressed empathy for the negativity both face in the public eye. “You develop thick skin over time; it’s just part of the journey,” she said, while also recognizing that criticism can inadvertently boost engagement on posts, which is an interesting twist.
In support of influencers in the golfing world, LPGA Tour legend Annika Sorenstam emphasized the importance of diverse perspectives in the sport. “Influencers can really enrich the game’s visibility,” she stated.
