Good Samaritan Rescues Senior Citizen Who Fell Off Fishing Boat

A good Samaritan helped rescue the elderly on a fishing boat in Camden County, Florida.

The incident occurred on March 13th. A man in the late 70s fell into the water as he was about to raise his anchor near the St. Mary's entrance channel in Cumberland Sound. It has been reported. Shortly after he fell into the chilly waters, local fisherman Hunter Howell received a call for pain.

“I got a call from a peer saying that his fishing partner had fallen overboard trying to pull an anchor,” Howell told the outlet.

Howell was only 12 minutes away and hustled to the scene to help the man, and was later identified as Seymour, the report said.

The Nassau County Sheriff's Office has released a video showing Seymour, who is stuck on the anchor line and struggles to float, is fighting.

“When I got there, all I saw was Mr. Seymour hanging on the boat like this,” Howell said.

Howell said he was able to pry Seymour's hand out of the rope, “It's when Nassau County got his boat close enough for me to move him.”

Officials reported that Seymour was extremely exhausted, showing signs of hypothermia. Thankfully, Seymour was wearing a life vest that helped with rescue.

Howell said Seymour would recover. When asked by the reporter what he was trying to do, he smiled and said, “We'll go back to Finna and go fishing.”
