The Republican National Committee (RNC) and Republican Campaign Committee Group raised record amounts of money after former President Donald Trump was found guilty on all 34 charges in his Manhattan business records trial.
“Since last night’s show trial verdict was announced, more than 485,000 donors have given $34.8 million,” Republican National Committee Chairman Michael Whatley said in a written statement Friday. “In the face of this unprecedented weaponization of our justice system, the American people stand with President Trump, and we are committed to investing these funds to promote voting, protect the ballot, and re-elect Donald J. Trump.”
The RNC isn’t the only Republican group to receive record donations after Trump was convicted.
National Republican Congressional Committee (NRCC) Said The party announced it had raised $300,000 by late Thursday night, far more than the $175,000 its campaign committee raised after Rep. Mike Johnson (R-Louisiana) was elected speaker.
“Republican voters are fired up,” NRCC communications director Jack Pandle wrote.
The National Republican Senatorial Committee (NRSC) Said Since the verdict, the group has raised $360,000, its largest fundraising total to date.
NRSC Executive Director Jason Thielman said: I have written“Outrage over the false verdict against Trump has galvanized ordinary Americans into action! The NRSC achieved its largest online fundraising drive of the season. People are energized and determined to take back the White House and the Senate!”
The Trump campaign said the 45th president raised $34.8 million, “nearly double the largest single-day fundraising record ever recorded by the Trump campaign on the WinRed platform.”
Trump campaign senior advisers Chris LaCivita and Susie Wiles Said In a statement on Friday:
Just minutes after the sham trial verdict was announced, our digital fundraising system was flooded with support, and despite a momentary online delay due to traffic volume, President Trump raised $34.8 million from small donors. Not only is this amount historic, but 29.7% of yesterday’s donors were new donors to the WinRed platform. President Trump and our campaign are incredibly grateful for this outpouring of support from patriots across the country. President Trump is fighting to save our country, and November 5th is the day the American people will get a real verdict.
WinRed, the Republican Party’s online campaign donation platform, was hit by heavy traffic on Thursday and suffered an outage.
Major Republican donors including Sean Maguire, Robert Bigelow and Don Tapia also pledged millions of dollars to Trump after he was convicted.
