GOP Senate Will Confirm All Trump’s Nominees

Sen. Tom Cotton (R-Ark.) predicted Monday that the new Republican-controlled Senate will approve all of President-elect Donald Trump's nominees.

Cotton's words have many implications. He was elected chair of the Senate Republican Conference in November, the third-ranking post in the leadership.

His bold statement is that the conference is ready to move beyond the controversy created by establishment media and live up to Trump's mandate by installing candidates who will implement Trump's agenda. It shows.

“I expect our Republican Senate to approve all of President Trump’s nominees,” Cotton said. tweeted Monday morning.

Cotton said that if a president sticks to his side and wants his nominee confirmed, as Trump did with Pete Hegseth, a candidate for the top Pentagon position, that candidate will receive the support of his party's senators. He acknowledged the recent history of this happening.

“Of the 72 Cabinet nominees since the Clinton transition, only two have received a no vote from the president-elect's party,” Cotton said. said In a subsequent tweet. “No one should be surprised that the Republican Senate would confirm President Trump's nominee.”

Hegseth continued to meet with Republican senators on Monday, and other candidates have begun meeting as well, including Director of National Intelligence Tulsi Gabbard.

President Trump has an aggressive legislative agenda during his first 100 days in office.

Congress will likely need to pass a government funding bill by mid-March and will consider one or perhaps two reconciliation bills.

Time is a luxury in the Senate, where daily operations are often bogged down by arcane legislative drudgery. And senators probably don't want nomination hearings and votes to be unnecessarily drawn out at the expense of President Trump's congressional blitzkrieg.

Cotton's prediction is a good sign that the Republican-controlled Senate is ready to get to work.
