Republican Sen. Minecround (SD) appeared on CNN on Sunday to talk about the 1798 Immigration Act and President Trump's decision to call the federal judge's attempt to block it.
Trump called on Saturday Alien enemies do it. It was the first time it had been used since World War II, and allowed the president to have the drastic power to deport people. The action was aimed at Venezuelan gang Tren de Aragua.
The round joined the “Union Status” hours after Trump's actions. The federal judge tried to block the move, but the Trump administration I deported people anyway.
“Obviously, these individuals can tell us that they weren't in the US in the first place, and the problem is that the laws we use to get them back and whether the court agrees, that part will be decided by the court,” Round said. “But in the meantime, I'm happy to see the president follow his promise to keep Americans safe.”
Host JacTapper forced the legality of the move on the senators as judges directed the administration to bring people back to the US while the judges turned out to deportation flights and unfolded in court. The administration did not comply with the judge's orders, and immigrants were deported.
“We'll see if that actually happened,” Round said. “I don't know about the timing. We know we're following the law.”
The Round said in support of Trump that he believes Trump is invoking immigration laws to protect Americans from “violent gangs” commonly known as the TDA.
“Most Americans don't care how old the law is. If we can drive these people out and keep our families safe, we're going to do that in the meantime,” he said.
