Louisiana Governor Jeff Landry (R) will now track all costs related to illegal immigration to provide transparency into the bill President Joe Biden's policies are forcing on taxpayers. The plan is to require state authorities to do so.
On Tuesday, Landry signed his next contract. presidential order The ultimate goal would be for Louisiana officials to monitor the economic burden of illegal immigration and disclose those numbers to state taxpayers to contain those costs.
“The cost of illegal immigration in this state falls on the shoulders of hardworking Louisianans,” Landry wrote in his paper. statement:
This executive order analyzes data to determine the economic burden on the public due to people not following the law. Although Louisiana always welcomes legal immigrants, Taxpayers cannot continue to foot the bill for individuals who break the law and skip the line.

The order requires the heads of all Louisiana executive agencies to provide data on the costs of illegal immigration to Landry's office.

The Federation for American Immigration Reform (FAIR) has already estimated that: almost 100,000 Louisiana is currently home to approximately 34,000 undocumented immigrants and their U.S.-born children, known as anchor babies.
According to FAIR, the average cost to Louisiana taxpayers is more than $4,600 per illegal alien, and each Louisiana household pays about $346 to cover the cost of an illegal immigrant.
