Nevada Governor Joe Lombardo (Republican) is calling for higher penalties for fentanyl possession amid reveals that five Nevada sheriffs were hospitalized for alleged fentanyl exposure after substance abuse.

But Lombardo is pushing the Nevada legislature to pass legislation that would increase penalties for fentanyl possession.
