California Governor Gavin Newsom has announced that he will launch a new podcast called “This is Gavin Newsom.” It reportedly features both Democrats and Republican commentators.

The new podcast will be the second “show” hosted by Newsom (D-calif.). Because he is also a co-host for the podcast “Politickin” He is alongside former NFL star Marshawn Lynch and his friend and agent Doug Hendrickson.
Sources say Newsom's latest podcast corresponds to the growing number of supporters that President Donald Trump gained after appearing on various podcasts during the 2024 presidential election.
The California Governor's new show, sold as a way for Newsom to have a transparent conversation about the future of the Democrats, will better “understand” the motivations of the “Maga” movement.
“We already know what our differences are with the Magazine movement. I want to understand what our motivations are and the validity of those motivations. “If we're not trying to understand their motivations, we're going to be victims of their motivations.”
“At the same time, like we have a lot of these issues, Democrats are coming and wanting to have some sort of challenge,” Newsom continued. “So I'm asking the same question you're asking me. Where are the Democrats? What are we doing? Who are we? Where are we going? What's the way back? I'm having the exact same conversation, but I just thought it would be more interesting to make it public and do it as honestly as possible.”
Meanwhile, Newsom's critics argue that the governor “focuses on yet another podcast while his state surrounds the drain.”
California is still being rebuilt from the devastating fires in Los Angeles County and is dealing with its growing homelessness issue and rising crime rates. Golden State has the highest personal income tax burden, with residents moving elsewhere in recent years.
“Gavin, maybe we'll talk about this?” One commenter responded, featuring photos of the growth of the homeless crisis that is plaguing California.
“I'm sure his 25 loyal listeners will be tailored to each episode. And do you know which governors have their own podcasts? They're busy doing their jobs, so they're not… unlike Gavin Newsom,” another online user added.
