Gov. Newsom to help Trump pursue federal charges against illegal migrant who killed teens while driving drunk

Gavin Newsom, a Democratic government in California, has agreed to help the Trump administration pursue federal charges against illegal immigrants who were released early after killing a young couple in a horrifying, drunken driving conflict.

Newsom’s Office has pledged to comply with Immigration Customs Enforcement (ICE) detainees to ensure that the state’s murderer, Oscar Eduardo Ortega Angiano, does not return to the streets of the United States after the controversial early release.

“After being deported in 2013, the individual illegally rejoined the United States and committed a heinous crime,” the Governor’s Office said in the X-Post.

“[California Department of Corrections and Rehabilitation] There are over 10,000 prisoners to transfer him before release, so adjust with ice again. ”

That’s after news of the possibility of an early release of Mexican immigrants sparked widespread outrage and fostered fears that California’s sanctuary policies could return to the streets.

Ortega Anjano, 43, was convicted of vehicle manslaughter in a fiery 2021 shipwreck that killed 19-year-old Anya Valforomev and her boyfriend, Nikolai Osokin.

The victim’s family was warned that he was eligible for release in July after he served just 3.5 years of his 10-year sentence over the weekend.

Bilal Essayli, a US lawyer for the Central District of California, quickly vowed to intervene to continue locking up convicted immigrants.

“My office has filed a felony immigration charge against this defendant,” the essay posted on X.

“He will face up to 20 years in federal prison if convicted of 8 USC 1326,” he added, referring to federal law prosecuting deported illegal immigrants re-entering the United States.

“If California doesn’t seek a full measure of justice for this individual, the Department of Justice will.”
