Governor may have appointed alleged Minnesota shooter to state board connected to Walz

Shooting Incident Involving Minnesota Politicians

The primary suspects in the tragic shootings of Minnesota Senator Melissa Hortman and her husband seem to have ties to the state, as they were appointed by two Democratic governors, including Governor Tim Walz, according to Blaze News.

Authorities believe Vance Luther Belter was the shooter, targeting Rep. Hortman (DFL) in Brooklyn Park along with her husband Mark and nearby Champlin’s wife, Senator Ybette.

It appears that Belter is the same individual who was initially appointed in 2016 by former Governor Mark Dayton (DFL) to the Governor’s Workforce Committee and was reappointed three years later by the current governor.

Belter’s LinkedIn profile indicates he holds a doctorate in education and has spent time in the Democratic Republic of the Congo.

Reports indicate that as the investigation unfolded, law enforcement discovered flyers for an anti-President Trump rally in the suspect’s vehicle.

The attack on the Hortmans and the Hoffmans took place early Saturday morning. While Hoffman has undergone surgery, it has been confirmed that Horton did not survive the attack.

Governor Walz expressed his horror at the violent events, labeling them as “politically motivated assassinations” and lamenting the situation as an “indescribable tragedy.” However, his office did not respond to requests for further comment.

According to additional reports, it seems the suspect arrived on the scene posing as a law enforcement officer, donning a blue shirt, pants, a badge, and a taser, asking the victims to step outside their home.

This story is still developing.
