Graham Remarks on Iran
During a recent interview, Senator Lindsey Graham expressed uncertainties about whether Iran has truly abandoned its nuclear ambitions, stating that it’s “too early to tell.” His comments came during a Sunday appearance on ABC’s “This Week,” where he acknowledged that a site targeted by the U.S. has been neutralized but voiced concerns over Iran’s uranium stockpiles.
Graham referred to an operation he dubbed “Midnight Hammer,” describing it as a significant military success that set back Iran’s nuclear program. However, he questioned if the Iranian regime still sought nuclear weapons. “The answer is yes,” he said, and he emphasized ongoing threats, particularly regarding Iran’s intentions against Israel and the United States.
Highlighting the importance of Iran acknowledging Israel’s right to exist, Graham stated, “If they can’t say that, you’re not going to get a deal worth worrying about.” He insisted that any potential engagement from the Trump administration would depend on Iran meeting specific conditions.
On another note, Trump recently said he is open to conducting further strikes against Iran if the country escalates its nuclear activities. He reiterated that the U.S. would take necessary measures to prevent Iran from advancing its program again.
Moreover, Trump dismissed claims made by Iran’s supreme leader, Ayatollah Ali Khamenei, who proclaimed victory over Israel. Trump countered Khamenei’s assertions, stating that he had, in fact, spared the Ayatollah from a dire fate, asserting the U.S. military’s capabilities and the protection afforded to him.
