Grand Jury examines details regarding 14-year-old Celeste Rivas, discovered deceased in artist D4vd's trunk

Investigation Into Death of 14-Year-Old Celeste Rivas Hernandez

A grand jury in Los Angeles is set to investigate the tragic death of 14-year-old Celeste Rivas Hernandez, whose remains were discovered in the trunk of musician D4vd’s car.

The discovery has prompted an increase in police efforts to gather information about the case. Celeste’s body was found in the trunk of D4vd’s Tesla on September 8, just a day after her supposed 15th birthday.

Authorities have not yet identified any suspects or labeled the case as a homicide. However, reports indicate that the county prosecutor has begun to present evidence to an investigative grand jury, suggesting a cautious progression in the case.

This grand jury, which began convening earlier this month, isn’t able to issue indictments but can summon witnesses and gather evidence. This development marks a significant turn in a disturbing case that has captured attention for months.

Documents obtained by sources reveal that a detective has referred to the situation as a “murder investigation,” although the Los Angeles Police Department has debunked claims that Celeste’s body had been decapitated or frozen.

The Los Angeles Coroner’s Office has also been ordered by the court not to release further details about the body.

Celeste was reported missing from her Lake Elsinore home on April 5, 2024. D4vd, whose full name is David Anthony Burke, was reportedly on tour when authorities discovered the body.

Celeste’s mother mentioned that police used specific details—like a tattoo that matched D4vd’s—to confirm her daughter’s identity. D4vd’s Tesla had been removed from a location near a Beverly Hills mansion before police executed a search warrant at a residence rented by his manager.

Despite hiring a skilled lawyer, D4vd appears to be less than cooperative, which has drawn scrutiny as the investigation continues.

Details about Celeste’s death remain murky. The coroner previously indicated that her body had likely been in the vehicle for a long period before it was discovered. In California, hiding a body is classified as a misdemeanor, meaning that unless prosecutors pursue murder charges, the individual responsible might avoid jail time.

Meanwhile, online videos and images purportedly depicting D4vd and Celeste have been circulating, adding further layers of intrigue to an already complex situation.
