ruapndehi:

Sudip Neupane’s grandparents, 27, feel sad and painful. Oktaditan is in shock and disappointment after losing his grandson in a terrorist attack in Pahargam, Jammu and Kashmir on Tuesday.

Sdip, along with his mother, sister and brother-in-law, was attacked by terrorists while visiting Miniswitzerland in Pahargam, India, when the terrorists opened fire, claiming to live a 27-year-old.

“They were there on vacation. My mother, son, daughter and step-in-law were safe and he was shot and killed,” 89-year-old Khemananda Neupane told Ani, sitting on a bench outside the house where Sudip grew up in the Rupandehi district.

Sudip visited Jammu and Kashmir on Saturday, April 19th, along with his mother, Rima Pandey, sister Sushma, and brother-in-law Ujjwal Kafle.

Sudip completed his health assistant (HA) research, received his bachelor’s degree in public health (BPH) from Kathmandu and worked on oral hygiene projects at Adhunik Samaj Dental. According to the family, Sdip was asked about his religion and was then shot.

“He was asked if he was a Muslim or a Hindu, and he said I was a Hindu and then they shot him. I was informed accordingly,” his grandfather told Annie, wiping his tears.

Octazitan, who lives in Sudip’s ancestor home, is about 10 km away from the new residence where he lived with his mother, Lima, and heard the news Wednesday morning.

“This morning my son and stepdaughter learned about it and then they informed us. I am completely shocked. They were here because they now live in Karikanagaru.

The Nepal Foreign Minister said Sudip Lima’s mother, Arzu Rana Deuba, was also injured in the incident. The Foreign Minister announced his injury to his deceased mother after confirming the fatality Wednesday morning.

“My nephew, his mother, sisters and brother-in-law were visiting Jammu and Kashmir. The terrorists at Lashkar e Taiba asked them what their religion – whether you are a Hindu or a Muslim, or a Hindu, Sudip was shot.

“The Indian government should give compensation and we look forward to a safer environment while visiting Jammu and Kashmir,” Tejral added.

Following Tuesday’s attack, Nepal Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli had a telephone conversation with Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi to express his apologies.
