Greene: “Hopefully, we won’t face attacks from terrorists”

Greene: 'Let's pray that we are not attacked by terrorists'

Following President Trump’s announcement of military strikes on three Iranian nuclear facilities late Saturday, Sen. Marjorie Taylor Greene (R-Ga.) urged for prayers, expressing a hope that the U.S. wouldn’t face attacks from terrorists.

“Let’s unite in prayer for the safety of our military and Americans in the Middle East,” she remarked on a social media platform, right after Trump’s announcement.

She added, “Considering our borders have been open for four years, let’s also pray that we won’t be attacked by our hometown terrorists, especially with over 2 million people having crossed without detection. Let’s pray for peace.”

This comment follows U.S. military actions targeting three nuclear sites in Natanz, Esfahan, and Fordow, which are situated in Iran’s mountainous terrain. Reports indicate that six “bunker buster” bombs were dropped on Fordow, along with over 20 Tomahawk missiles fired at the other locations.

Greene has been vocal about her opposition to U.S. involvement in the Iran-Israel conflict, supporting Trump for his stance against entanglements in foreign issues.

“The true America First/MAGA supporters have been revealed, and the list of those who aren’t has grown long and obvious,” Greene stated in a 355-word post on the same social media platform last week.

In response, Sen. Lindsey Graham (R-S.C.) dismissed Greene’s views, suggesting she fails to grasp the nuclear dangers posed by Iran.

“If you don’t realize that religious extremists would use nuclear weapons to annihilate all Jews, then you’re not paying attention,” Graham asserted. “They pose a significant threat to us and to Israel. Allowing nuclear weapons to fall into the hands of such fanatics is against global interests.”

While Greene represents a more divisive viewpoint, many Republicans in Washington celebrated the strikes on Iran, reigniting intense debates, particularly within the GOP. This comes on the heels of Israel’s recent attack on an Iranian nuclear facility, described as a significant escalation in tensions.
