Marjorie Taylor Greene Halts Senate Campaign
Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene has decided not to pursue a Senate run. In a segment on “Fox Report,” Bluestack Strategies founder, Maura Gillespie, will analyze this choice and its implications for Greene’s political trajectory.
Recently, Greene put forward a bill aimed at penalizing those who administer gender transition procedures to minors.
“Left-wing activists and medical facilities are targeting American kids with harmful drugs and irreversible sterilization procedures,” Greene stated. “My bill aims to halt these extreme practices that threaten children’s well-being.”
The proposed legislation seeks to criminalize chemical castration of minors and any actions meant to interfere with their bodies in contexts such as interstate transactions or US territories.
Expressing Concerns about Republican Base
Greene has voiced her dissatisfaction, indicating that she reflects a frustrated Republican base.
The bill specifically addresses the use of puberty blockers and excessive hormone dosages in minors.
The “Children’s Innocence Act of 2025” proposes fines and possible imprisonment for offenders, with statutory penalties not exceeding ten years.
There are exceptions laid out, primarily for cases deemed necessary for a minor’s health, though the legislation explicitly excludes treatment for psychiatric conditions.
New Legislation on Transgender Military Policy
A markup session by the House Judiciary Committee is set for Tuesday to discuss these measures.
Greene’s bill is backed by numerous House Republican colleagues, as indicated in her announcement.
This year, President Donald Trump had initiated an order to guard children against extreme gender ideology practices.
The order states that no funding or support will be provided for what it terms the “transition” of minors, ensuring strict enforcement of laws that restrict such life-altering procedures.
