Greg Laurie, pastor and pastor of Harvest Crusade, said he recently had a conversation with the late evangelist Billy Graham about the gospel and its effect on people’s souls.
“I can’t believe God has allowed me to do this and keep doing it for 35 years,” Laurie, who leads Harvest Christian Fellowship in Riverside, California, recently told CBN News.[When] We started the harvest movement. [events]I never thought I’d be doing it again 35 years later, but here we are, and they’re going strong, and it’s a whole new generation.”
He argued that there is a “spiritual hunger” among Gen Z and millennials, based on the recent positive response to Christian faith. Christian Post I will report.
“They’re searching,” Laurie said, “They want answers. And I find myself in these movements being more simple than I’ve ever been. I feel like my job is to make this information accessible and easy to understand.”
“Most Americans [encountered an] “Presenting the gospel accurately and clearly is very important to the church,” he continued. “They’ve heard the word ‘gospel,’ they’ve heard many variations of gospel sermons, but have they ever actually heard the simple gospel message presented in a way that they can understand?”
The preacher went on to say that this simple message is at the heart of the Bible’s story.
“The power of our message is in death. [and] “The Resurrection of Jesus Christ,” he said.
He also recalled having dinner with Rev. Graham many years ago, during which he asked the late Rev. Graham what he would say to a young Rev. Billy Graham if he had the chance.
“Billy said, ‘I want to preach more about the cross and blood of Christ. That’s where the power is,'” Laurie recalled. “So now, at this point, [in] Through my ministry, I have realized that I really simplify my message.”
In response, helping people make the decision to follow Christ and building those relationships produces powerful results.
Last month, Pastor Lowry was among 50,000 people who attended the recent Harvest Crusade held on July 20th at Angel Stadium in Anaheim, California.
“The fire chief literally closed the door, but there were people outside praying,” Rowley said.
Around 3,500 people gave their lives to Christ in person, and a further 1,500 made the same decision by watching the crusade online.
A week later, another baptismal service was held in Raleigh, where 2,000 people were baptized. Last month’s baptism follows the 2023 Jesus Revolution Baptism, in which 4,500 people were baptized.
