FBI Captures Most-Wanted Fugitive Gregory Henderson Jr.

The FBI has successfully apprehended Gregory Henderson Jr., a fugitive recently placed on its most-wanted list. This happened just three days after the agency added him to the list and offered a reward of up to $1 million for details leading to his capture.

Henderson, 46, had managed to avoid arrest since August 2023, when a significant federal crackdown on his gang took place. He faces serious federal charges, which include conspiracy to distribute and possess controlled substances, money laundering, and participation in an animal fighting operation.

The FBI accuses Henderson of leading a violent gang in Indianapolis that trafficked drugs sourced from the Sinaloa cartel. Their operations allegedly spread methamphetamine, cocaine, and fentanyl throughout Indianapolis and into neighboring Midwestern areas.

Henderson’s arrest marks the ninth capture from the FBI’s Most Wanted list since President Donald Trump took office. This, according to the FBI, is particularly notable because these nine fugitives had been evading law enforcement for over 50 years. More captures have happened under the current administration compared to the previous one.

Director Kash Patel noted that Henderson’s capture is part of an overall trend of increased arrests of the top ten fugitives during Trump’s leadership. He stated, “This administration has put great police officers on the force, and they are doing their jobs in historic fashion.” Patel thanked the FBI Indianapolis team and other law enforcement agencies involved in the efforts.

In a related statement, U.S. Secretary of Agriculture Brooke L. Rollins also expressed gratitude to the agencies involved, emphasizing that Henderson left a trail of pain due to his crimes. He was considered armed and dangerous when the FBI added him to their list on August 11.

Along with Henderson, 20 others were indicted that month on charges related to drug trafficking and dog fighting, resulting in a massive law enforcement operation that arrested 18 individuals. During this operation, authorities seized multiple firearms, significant amounts of drugs, cash, and a large number of fighting dogs.

Henderson’s lengthy criminal history includes violence, threats, and other violations related to drug trafficking and animal abuse, as noted by an FBI special agent. Details regarding the circumstances of his capture have yet to be released.
