Memorial Disruption Leads to Arrest in Phoenix

A man was taken into custody after he rudely trampled over a memorial for Charlie Kirk outside the Turning Point USA headquarters in Phoenix on Sunday.

Footage captured by Fox News showed him walking through the memorial and kicking items like flowers, vases, and flags. Witnesses intervened to stop him, with a bystander in a blue polo shirt pushing the man away and taking him to the ground.

The suspect has been identified as 19-year-old Ryder Corral. Interestingly, in the video of his arrest, he was wearing a shirt similar to what the suspected assassin of Kirk was seen in. Corral’s shirt featured an American flag and an eagle, which looked quite like the one worn by Tyler Robinson during the tragic incident where Kirk was shot at Utah Valley University on Wednesday.

No serious injuries from this disruption have been reported. According to Phoenix Police Department’s Public Information Sergeant Philip Klinsky, Corral is currently in custody facing charges including criminal damage and disorderly conduct. Officers were already monitoring the area due to a large turnout from the community.

This incident follows the arrest of a man accused of shooting Kirk, which concluded after a lengthy 33-hour manhunt. Just yesterday, the FBI released an image of a person of interest linked to Kirk’s assassination—a slender man dressed in jeans and a long-sleeved black shirt adorned with an American flag graphic, wearing black sunglasses and a hat.

Kirk was tragically killed by a single bullet while speaking at an event in Orem, Utah. He was just 31 years old. Turning Point USA has not yet offered any comments following these events.
