Passengers Alarmed by Unexpected Scream on Air Canada Flight
Last month, an unsettling incident unfolded on an Air Canada flight while it was taxiing at Toronto Pearson Airport. Just moments before takeoff, a chilling scream erupted from the cargo hold, causing distress among passengers.
It appears that ground crew members had accidentally become trapped when a door closed behind them. The incident occurred on December 13, as Flight 1502 was preparing to head to Moncton, New Brunswick, with 184 passengers on board.
This frightening scene prompted immediate action, leading to the eventual cancellation of the flight. Passengers reported hearing a mix of muffled bangs and the urgent pleas for help, heightening the sense of panic in the cabin. “Some people sitting in the back of the plane heard the person screaming and banging to get attention,” one passenger, Gabriel Caron, recounted. She noted that the flight attendants quickly rushed down the aisle in response.
As the plane halted before reaching the runway, the trapped crew members were able to exit the cargo area and reassure the passengers that everything was alright. Thankfully, no injuries were reported in this unusual event.
Caron shared that the crew member who got trapped was likely assisting with loading baggage when the mishap occurred. After confirming the situation was safe, the aircraft returned to the terminal for passengers to disembark while crew members completed the required paperwork. Following several delays, the flight was ultimately canceled by the airline.
Air Canada has not provided any further details, but it was clear that this incident left a mark on those involved.
