Gus Kenworthy criticizes ICE once more after receiving troubling messages

Gus Kenworthy, the British-American Olympic skier set to represent Great Britain at the 2026 Milan-Cortina Games, reiterated his strong criticism of US Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) on Monday.

He shared a provocative image of himself with the phrase “F— ICE” displayed in his urine. In a video on Instagram, he mentioned that he has received numerous “horrible” messages following the post.

Kenworthy emphasized the importance of standing up for one’s beliefs, insisting that it’s essential to be critical of the country’s policies, even if you love your home. He noted, “You can love America and be proud to be an American, as I am, and still think that this country can be better.”

He expressed his opposition to the current administration, stating, “Just because you love America doesn’t mean you support this administration or their laws. I don’t support ICE, and I think that’s absolutely horrible.” He highlighted the alarming reality of violence happening in the streets, where police officers operate without accountability.

Kenworthy accused ICE agents of racial profiling and illegally detaining individuals, describing the situation as frightening. He pointed out that many of those targeted are non-violent individuals seeking a better life, a principle that he believes is at the heart of America’s identity as a nation of immigrants.

At 34, Kenworthy is preparing to compete in the men’s freeski halfpipe event.
