Gwen Stefani Quashes Breakup Rumors with Blake Shelton
Gwen Stefani has addressed speculation about her relationship with Blake Shelton by sharing a heartfelt photo of them together. On Friday, the 56-year-old No Doubt singer posted a kissing selfie on her Instagram Story, showing Shelton, 49, planting a kiss on her cheek. In the picture, Stefani wore a relaxed red flannel shirt, her blonde hair cascading down as she smiled warmly at the camera.
She opted not to include a caption, letting the affectionate moment speak for itself.
Rumors about a potential breakup had escalated earlier, particularly because Shelton was absent from the CMA Awards on November 19, an event where he had received a nomination for Best Musical Event of the Year for his collaboration on Post Malone’s song “Pour Me a Drink.”
Interestingly, Stefani hadn’t shared any posts featuring Shelton since June, aside from a birthday tribute.
As for Shelton, he honored Stefani publicly in October. Fans began to raise eyebrows about their marital state especially following the release of their duet “Hangin’ On,” which highlights themes of separation, earlier this year.
Shelton remarked in an interview that the song doesn’t truly reflect the state of their relationship, expressing, “I don’t think it’s a reflection of where Gwen and I are in our relationship. I hope so.”
Amid the ongoing speculation, Stefani and Shelton’s lack of social media interactions only fueled more questions. While they usually kept their followers updated on their lives together, there seemed to be a noticeable absence of posts featuring each other.
The couple tied the knot in July 2021, which marked Stefani’s second marriage and Shelton’s third. Stefani had previously been married to Gavin Rossdale from 2002 until their divorce in 2016, while Shelton was married to Kaynette Williams (2003-2006) and Miranda Lambert (2011-2015).
During an appearance on The Drew Barrymore Show earlier this year, Stefani reflected on love advice she received, emphasizing the importance of having an outside perspective in their marriage.
She also opened up about how Shelton gave her a “second chance at life” after her divorce, noting the chaos that surrounded her family’s dissolution. “Meeting my husband felt like a second chance at life,” she shared, highlighting how Shelton came into her life when she needed support the most.
