Gwyneth Paltrow's friend criticizes other Democrats' reaction to the strikes in Iran

Gwyneth Paltrow’s Iranian business partner has expressed strong disappointment in fellow Democrats for their criticism of President Trump’s airstrikes in Iran.

Moji Mahdallah, 48, who co-founded Kinship Ventures with Paltrow, compares the regime’s downfall in Tehran to the fall of the Berlin Wall.

In an interview with CNN, Mahdallah, a self-described “massive Democrat,” stated that it is crucial for the Democratic Party to move past its animosity towards Trump.

This comes in the wake of a U.S.-Israeli airstrike that resulted in the deaths of notable Iranian figures, drawing condemnation from several Democratic leaders, including Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez and Rashida Tlaib.

Mahdallah, also co-founder of the Iranian Diaspora Collective, embraced the airstrike and urged fellow liberals celebrating the action to believe in the Iranian people.

He emphasized that national security is paramount and that regime change could potentially expedite the resolution of the ongoing conflict in Ukraine, where Iranian technology is being used against civilians.

“Do we support the Ukrainian people? Ending the war demands dismantling this Islamic republic,” he remarked. He underscored the need to trust the Iranian people, asserting that understanding the current government is essential for effective change.

Mahdallah suggested that this moment could mirror significant historical shifts like the end of the Soviet Union, asserting it’s a transformative period for both humanity and American interests.

“I’ve always been a committed Democrat, but I’m very let down by my party right now,” he admitted.

Paltrow herself faced scrutiny from some left-leaning individuals after voicing support for Israeli hostages taken by Hamas in the recent attacks. She signed a letter advocating for their immediate release and raised awareness about the issues faced by female hostages.

During instances of anti-government protests in Iran, Paltrow also hosted a podcast episode highlighting the voices of Iranian women during their struggle.
