Former UN ambassador and Republican presidential candidate Nikki Haley argued against a ceasefire in the ongoing war between Israel and Hamas in an op-ed published Friday.
article, Published Haley of the New York Post criticised President Biden and other Western politicians for “apparently forgetting” what happened on October 7th.
Haley, a former governor of South Carolina, recently visited Israel and drew criticism for writing “F*ck ‘Em” on Israeli artillery shells.
In an op-ed, the former UN ambassador detailed his recent visit and said it was important for Israel to continue its pushback against Hamas.
“It is vital that Israel finishes its mission in Gaza, defeats Hamas, and returns all hostages to their families,” she wrote.
She criticized Biden and members of Congress for trying to withhold weapons from Israel and not doing what the country needs to do to ensure security against Iran.
“The worst part is they are calling for a ceasefire,” Haley wrote. “A ceasefire is the same as defeat.”
“This will give the terrorists the time and resources to carry out their mission of Israel’s total destruction,” she continued.
Haley also slammed the International Criminal Court and the International Court of Justice, which have called on Israel to stop fighting.
“Countries and groups that attack Israel embolden America’s enemies. Punishing them is key to protecting ourselves,” she said.
The Gaza Health Ministry reports that more than 36,000 Palestinians have been killed since Israel launched its counteroffensive.
International calls for Israel to halt its military operations are growing as Israel continues to push into the southern Gaza city of Rafah, which has taken refuge for hundreds of thousands of Palestinians and which the Israeli army claims is the last remaining stronghold of Hamas.
