Nikki Haley, a former 2024 Republican presidential candidate, visited Israel this Memorial Day weekend and reiterated her support for the country.
Haley, who served as U.S. ambassador to the United Nations for two years under the Trump administration, visited areas in southern Gaza targeted by Hamas in the Oct. 7 attack that sparked more than seven months of war between Israel and Gaza’s ruling forces.
Haley was welcomed by Danny Danon, a current member of the Israeli Knesset and former Israeli ambassador to the United Nations during his tenure there.

“To all Israelis, I say this: America stands with you. The American people stand with you. 1,200 people were brutally murdered. Never forget what happened on October 7th, because Hamas threatened to do it again. It is our duty to make sure that this never happens again,” Haley said in the video posted by Danon.
“Don’t listen to what you’re being told in the media. Rest assured, America is on Israel’s side!” Danon quoted Haley in another post on X.
Haley was the final candidate to challenge former President Trump in the race for the 2024 Republican presidential nomination.
Haley has made her support for Israel a central part of her political identity, both during her time at the UN and as a presidential candidate. Posted this weekend I was grateful for Haley’s visit.
