In 2023, the House Oversight Committee revealed that CEFC controlled State Energy Hong Kong Limited, a company linked to payments totaling $1.3 million to the Biden family. Through the Biden family’s Suspicious Activity Report (SAR), the Committee also discovered that Biden associate Rob Walker received a $3 million wire transfer from CEFC. As a result, four Biden family members, Hunter, James, Harry and an unidentified “Biden,” received a total of $1.3 million from the $3 million wire transfer.
Hunter, who is an attorney, also received $1 million in legal fees from CEFC Chairman Ye Jianming in 2017. In addition, Hunter received a large diamond from Ye in February 2017, valued at an estimated $80,000.
