Palestinian terrorist organization Hamas on Friday released a new propaganda video showing three female Israeli hostages, saying each of them is in danger of dying not from Hamas but from the Israeli army and urging Israeli leaders to call for war. I appealed for it to stop.
In the video, two Israeli soldiers, 19-year-old Karina Aliyev and 19-year-old Daniela Gilboa, and Doron Steinbrecher, a 30-year-old civilian living in Kibbutz Kfar Aza, appear in almost word-for-word correspondence. He is seen repeating the message. Sometimes all at once.
The three women, apparently under duress, say that Israeli bombs and tank shells are putting their lives at risk and must be brought home before it is too late. The video is supplemented with bombing sound effects and an image of her three women inside an hourglass.
Hamas appears to have misunderstood the perception of the Israeli public. While the video correctly references street protests in support of the hostage trade, the scriptwriters also have the hostages accuse Israeli forces of killing them, something no Israeli would say. .
The hostage video was released as negotiations over the hostage deal involving the US CIA, Qatar and Egypt stalled after the International Court of Justice (ICJ) rejected calls for a ceasefire. Hamas wants a permanent ceasefire. Israel wants to destroy Hamas.
About 20 women are among the approximately 130 hostages remaining in Gaza. Hamas refused to release the men, claiming that they had once served in the Israeli army, even though they were not soldiers. Hamas has also denied Red Cross visits in violation of international law, and this week reneged on an agreement to prove that medical supplies sent from Israel through Qatar were indeed delivered to the hostages.
There are reports of female hostages being raped, subjected to other sexual assaults, and degraded by Hamas terrorists.
