Hamas spokesperson edits Hannah Einbinder's bare shoulders in a promotional video celebrating her 'free Palestine' speech at the Emmys.

A representative for Hamas praised Hannah Einbinder’s Emmy acceptance speech in which she proclaimed “free Palestine.” However, they censored her bare shoulders and cleavage during the broadcast.

Einbinder appeared on the QUDS News Network’s social media to express her support for Palestine on the program aired Sunday.

Despite her intentions, QUDS News obscured her bare torso, making her pin advocating for Palestine invisible.

During her Emmy speech, Einbinder clarified that her call for “free Palestine” stemmed from her desire to differentiate Jewish identity and culture from the actions of the Israeli state.

QUDS News claims to provide independent news from the Palestinian perspective, yet they have faced allegations of connections to Hamas and Palestinian Islamic jihad.

Since Hamas gained control in Gaza in 2007, there have been significant restrictions on women’s rights, with organizations like the UN criticizing their treatment of women.

While Hamas has not formally imposed a dress code, they have been accused of enforcing a “humble code,” pressuring women to wear headscarves and long dresses in public.

In a notable moment following her win for Outstanding Supporting Actress in a Comedy Series, Einbinder expressed strong opinions, saying, “F-K Ice and Free Palestine.”

She felt it was necessary to clarify her stance, emphasizing, “It’s essential to distinguish Jews from the state of Israel.”

Einbinder elaborated that their cultural and religious identity should not be conflated with nationalistic politics, asserting her duty as a Jew to make this distinction.
