A 19-year-old student from South Dakota has been charged after police say he admitted to posting anti-Semitic remarks on the campus of Hamilton College in upstate New York.
New York State Police announced Friday that they began an investigation “following reports of anti-Semitic comments being posted on art canvases” across the school's campus in Clinton Village.
“Several interviews were conducted, video surveillance was reviewed, and a suspect was identified,” state police said. “On October 12, 2024, Adin Brenden, 19, a student at the university from South Dakota, was found in his dorm room.
“Brenden agreed to speak with state police, eventually admitted to posting the statement, and was taken into custody,” investigators added.
