Kamala Harris Discusses Joe Biden’s Age in New Book

Former Vice President Kamala Harris has acknowledged that Joe Biden, during his presidency, was “tired,” but she emphasized that there’s no conspiracy to hide his decline.

This insight comes from a newly released excerpt of her forthcoming book, *107 Days*, which delves into her relationship with Biden and her dissatisfaction with how she felt treated in their administration.

“Many people are looking for a grand narrative of a White House plot to conceal Joe Biden’s frailty. The reality I experienced is different. Joe Biden is intelligent, has vast experience, and holds deep convictions, enabling him to carry out his presidential responsibilities,” she expressed. “Even on his worst day, he was more knowledgeable and capable of empathy than Donald Trump. But, of course, at 81, he was indeed tired.”

“This fatigue was evident through his physical and verbal lapses. It’s no surprise that the debate incident occurred after he had just returned from two taxing trips to Europe, not to mention a flight to the West Coast for fundraising events. I don’t view this as incompetence. If I had thought that, I would have said so. My loyalty lies with President Biden and, ultimately, with my country,” she added.

Harris noted her concerns that Biden’s team didn’t provide her with adequate support on various issues, from foreign policy to immigration.

Furthermore, she opined that the Democratic Party should actively encourage Biden to reconsider his plans for running again, arguing that it would be “reckless” to let him make that decision alone for too long.

Concerns from Young Democrats About Biden’s Future

“I think it’s ultimately Joe and Jill’s choice. But I also believe that the situation is quite reckless, almost as if we’re in some kind of trance,” she remarked, hinting at the challenges facing the Biden administration as it moves toward the next election.
