Speaking on CNN News Central on Tuesday, New Jersey Gov. Phil Murphy (D) said it doesn’t matter that Vice President and 2024 Democratic presidential candidate Kamala Harris has avoided interviews so far, saying, “She’s brought joy back to the entire political world. I think she’ll have plenty of time to do interviews.”
Co-host Kate Bolduin asked, “Elon Musk concluded his conversation with Donald Trump by saying, I think this country is at a crossroads in the fate of civilization, I think we need to get on the right path, and I think you’re on the right path. It’s not a scathing interview, but as Trump emphasized, he’s done interviews and Kamala Harris hasn’t done any yet. Do you think this is posing a problem for those of you who support Kamala Harris, beyond just a scheduling issue?”
Murphy responded: “I wouldn’t be surprised to hear that there was no time for an interview with Musk and Trump, so I can’t comment on the content. But absolutely not. I think she’s had a fantastic experience over the last few weeks. Tim Walz is a great choice. She’s on a roll. Like he said, she’s brought joy back to the whole political world. There’s plenty of time to do interviews. And about last night, if you haven’t heard, God knows it wasn’t an interview. So when she does do an interview, it will be with a real journalist like you.”
