Harris campaign hits JD Vance in fiery Happy Birthday message

Vice President Harris’ campaign sent a glowing happy birthday message online to Sen. J.D. Vance (R-Ohio), whom former President Trump picked as his running mate last month.

“At 78 and 40 years old, Donald Trump and his running mate, the most unpopular vice presidential candidate in American history, are running on a platform that will take our country backwards, reverse the progress we’ve made and ensure that the next generation of Americans has fewer free wills than the last,” the campaign said. Posted on Friday evening On social media platform X.

Harris’ team also said voters are rejecting Project 2025 and pushed their conservative policies against Vance and his Republican opponents. Vance has denied any association with the project. The message also accused the pair of “robbing our freedoms,” increasing the burden on the middle class and “stoking the flames of hatred and division.”

“While we celebrate JD’s 40th birthday, the American people will make sure he celebrates his 41st somewhere other than the White House,” the campaign wrote to X.

Trump formally added Vance to his list of candidates at the Republican National Convention in Milwaukee last month. The freshman senator has gotten off to a shaky start so far, with some Republicans questioning the former president’s decision.

Vance has also come under fire for his previous comments about “childless cat ladies” and his stance that Americans with children should have a greater say in our democracy because they have a huge stake in its future.

Harris’ campaign said Senator Vance was “already a huge failure” as a vice presidential candidate, and argued his poor performance may be leaving Trump with “regrets.”

Harris, an Ohio Republican, also fired back, saying she was “a million times worse” than President Biden. She also expressed frustration that Biden dropped out of the race last month because he was looking forward to debating the vice president.

Still, Harris’ campaign and other Democratic leaders have capitalized on Vance’s unpopularity, calling Trump and the senator “crazy people.”

The Hill has reached out to Vance for comment.
