Vice President Harris' campaign announced Friday that it has begun its largest weekend campaign yet, mobilizing volunteers in battleground states about five weeks from Election Day.
In an announcement first sent to The Hill, the Harris campaign said it will reach more than 1 million voters this weekend through more than 25,000 volunteer shifts and 4,000 events across swing states. He said he is aiming for
Delegates including Pennsylvania Gov. Josh Shapiro (D), Maryland Gov. Wes Moore (D), Rep. Nydia Velasquez (D.Y.), and producer Shonda Rhimes also spoke over the weekend. Get involved in the action.
The campaign is expected to use the weekend to harshly criticize former President Trump, calling the campaign's field operations “weak” in an announcement.
Harris battleground state secretary Dan Kaninen argued that Democrats have a “huge advantage in battleground states against the Trump operation.”
“With 39 days left, we are doing everything in our power to emphasize the stakes of this election to the voters who will decide the outcome of this election,” Kanninen said. “This election will be close, but we are committed to winning it all.”
The weekend will include a “Women for Kamala” coalition event in Georgia, a brunch in Pennsylvania, and a “Playground Politics” event in Minnesota.
As for the candidates, Harris plans to travel to Arizona for a border visit on Friday, California for a fundraiser on Saturday and Nevada for a rally on Sunday.
