Speaking on Fox Business Network's “Kudlow” show on Wednesday, Breitbart News economics editor John Carney said Vice President and 2024 presidential candidate Kamala Harris was wrong to say there was a manufacturing boom during her term in office and that manufacturing growth under the Trump administration was twice as fast as it was under the Biden-Harris administration.
Carney said, “Kamala Harris loves to claim that she's brought about a manufacturing boom. That's a complete lie. Manufacturing has been in contraction for two years. I calculated how many more manufacturing jobs are now than they were at the peak of the Trump administration, just before the pandemic. They're up just 1.7%. Then I calculated how many more manufacturing jobs were from the peak of the Obama administration to the peak of the Trump administration. They're up 3.4%. So manufacturing jobs are twice as big under Trump as they are under Biden and Harris. And that's remarkable. They're not going to get the growth they want because they don't actually like manufacturing. All they want is manufacturing through the Green New Deal. They don't like people buying the kind of cars they want to drive in America.”
