Harris defender lashes out when Fox News anchor asks basic questions about Harris’ economic plan — but she can’t answer

So what is Vice President Kamala Harris' plan to revive the economy and make things cheaper for Americans?

That was the question Fox News host Sandra Smith posed to Democratic strategist Kelly Hyman on Monday, leading to a contentious interview when Hyman offered no substantive answer.

“I don't know if that pitch will work with voters. Sorry, there's nothing I can do about it.”

“You've explained that Kamala Harris is speaking to voters on the pitch that she and Biden are going to bring down prices that have gone up under her and the Biden administration. I just want to remind everyone. So how do you plan to address those prices, with food prices going up 25 percent?” Smith asked.

Initially, Hyman tried to shift responsibility for the economy away from the president, arguing that “ultimately, it's the responsibility of Congress.”

“So you don't think Kamala Harris will bring the price down?” Smith retorted.

As Hyman pressed his case that there was only so much the president could do and reiterated that ultimately Congress needs to act to help the American people, Smith confronted him with reality.

“I don't know if that pitch will work with voters: 'Sorry, there's nothing I can do,'” Smith explained. “It's tough right now for people who live on a fixed income in this country. So the question is, what's her economic plan? What's her pitch to voters to bring prices down? Every interview Trump gives, she details what she's going to do. And we're all just saying, 'What's her plan?'”

At that moment, Hyman tried to shift the argument from Harris to Donald Trump, claiming that the former president's economic vision was “harmful to the American people.” Of course, this argument ignores the fact that Trump was already president and that Americans generally believe the economy was doing better when Trump was in power.

“So what's Harris' plan? We're waiting,” Smith asked again.

In the most crucial part of the interview, Hyman instead touted Harris' economic plan, saying Americans could find out for themselves. Then, for some reason, she bragged about Harris' controversial anti-price gouging plan.

“There are many aspects to this when it comes to watching online,” Hyman said. “So let's talk about lowering grocery prices. This is a hot topic. Viewers can watch this online. She talks about pushing for the first federal law to ban price gouging on food and everyday items, setting clear rules to make sure big corporations can't unfairly exploit consumers.”

Addressing the allegations of price gouging, Smith was quick to retort: ”Is that even happening?”

“I'm not familiar with that kind of information, so I don't know if that's happening right now, but there are people out there who are incurring a lot of expenses in terms of groceries,” Hyman responded.

Hyman is not an economist and is not “familiar with such information,” but Harris' attempt to blame inflation on price gouging fails because it is untrue. Grocery store profit margins are shrinkingThis is proof that grocers aren't letting customers gouge their prices.

At the end of the interview, Hyman lashed out at Smith for interrupting him and claimed that being a woman was “disrespectful.”

“I can't seem to explain her plans very well,” Smith told Hyman.

“That's not true. I'm constantly being interrupted by you. As a woman, I find that disrespectful. Every time I try to speak, every time I try to speak, you cut me off,” Hyman said.
