On Wednesday, CNN political commentator and former Obama aide Van Jones told the network that 2024 Democratic presidential candidate Vice President Kamala Harris unnecessarily dodged some questions during a town hall that night. “Words like salad get on my nerves,” he said.
Mr Jones said:[T]There were flashes here of the Kamala I know, but he really is a true public servant. She truly works for real people. In the back of her mind, she wonders how she can solve the problem. She sometimes skips. Even when we're face-to-face, we sometimes skip the human part and get into the problem-solving part. But there were signs. And I think if you're at home trying to figure this out, you can ask the question, could she have done this, could she have done it better? Your job is not to work for City Hall. Your job is to fight for the people. Does she seem like someone who takes ordinary people's problems seriously and tries to get answers? And I think she passed that test. ”
He continued: “I think the word salad makes me nervous. I don't think some dodging is necessary. But if she's telling you she's trying to buy you a house, I'll believe her.” When she says, “I need you to help my sick mom,'' I believe her. What she's talking about is, “I'm going to do everything I can to bring prices down. I may not agree with those tools, but I believe she will try to apply them.'' ” Therefore, I think this person truly values people. And tonight, I think she passed that test. How she did it, some of that got on my nerves. But I believe she will fight for the American people. ”
Jones then said there was a double standard between Harris and her Republican opponent, former President Donald Trump, and that Harris has policies and is fighting for them, but her own policies Trump doesn't always speak perfectly, and said he doesn't talk about policy. .
