Harris holds 3-point national lead over Trump: Survey

With just two weeks until Election Day, Vice President Harris has a 3-point advantage over former President Trump nationally, according to a new poll.

public opinion poll, Released on Tuesday Reuters/Ipsos data shows Harris leading President Trump with an approval rating of 46% to 43%. Compared to the previous poll conducted last week, the Democratic candidate's lead remained unchanged at 45% to 42%.

The survey also found that immigration, the economy and threats to democracy are among the top issues for likely voters in November.

According to the poll, the former president led on immigration, 48% to 35%, and on economic issues, 46% to 38%. Harris held a seven-point lead over her Republican rival on the issue of threats to democracy, 42% to 35%. The vice president was also ahead of the curve on health care and abortion, according to the study.

Immigration was the top issue voters said the winner should focus their efforts on in his first 100 days in the Oval Office, with 35% support. Income inequality followed at 11 percent, followed by taxes and health care at 10 percent.

About 70% of registered voters said the cost of living was moving in the wrong direction, 65% cited immigration and 60% cited economic conditions, according to the data.

Last weekend, The Hill/Decision Desk Headquarters (DDHQ) election forecast showed Trump ahead of Harris for the first time, with the model predicting a 52% chance for the Republican candidate to win in November. Harris had a 48% chance of winning.

The Democratic candidate currently holds a 1.2 percentage point lead over Trump nationally, 49% to 47.8%, according to The Hill/DDHQ polling index.

The Reuters/Ipsos poll was conducted Oct. 15-21 among 4,129 U.S. voters, including 3,481 registered voters. The margin of error is 2 percentage points.
