Harris Is Dominating Media, Can Do Rallies Without Interviews Right Now

On Bloomberg’s “Balance of Power” broadcast on Friday, Rep. Glenn Ivey (D-Md.) said that while Vice President and 2024 presidential candidate Kamala Harris will have time to hold press conferences and interviews, she has a media monopoly and should just stick with rallies for now.

Ivey said, “I think she continues to dominate the media. I think Trump held a press conference yesterday because he’s been sidelined by some of his own stupid comments, but I also think her campaign is on fire and he’s trying to find a way to get back on the campaign trail. They had Vance hounding them for a few days, pressing his nose up against the window. Yes, it was kind of crazy, but it’s clear they’re a little desperate and confused about how to move the message forward.”

“Should she hold a press conference or give an interview? The problem at the moment is she’s not answering the questions,” host Joe Mathews asked.

“Well, I’m OK with her doing that. I think there’s plenty of time for that press conference, but I think introducing herself and her running mate is the right thing to do at this point. So I like speaking in battleground states, I think large rallies make sense, I think it makes sense to continue to push for high-energy events,” Ivey said.[s] It makes a lot of sense, and I think she’ll be able to get through it.”
