Harris ‘last person in the room’ video goes viral on 3rd anniversary of deadly Afghanistan attack

Many conservatives dug up Vice President Kamala Harris’ outdated comments to mark the third anniversary of the Abbey Gate bombing, which killed 13 Americans during the Biden administration’s withdrawal from Afghanistan.

Monday marks three years since the Aug. 26, 2021, suicide bombing at Hamid Karzai International Airport that killed 13 U.S. troops and more than 100 Afghans. Islamic State terrorists claimed responsibility for the attack.

Nearly four months before the tragic terrorist attack, Harris spoke about her role in an interview with CNN, acknowledging that she was the last person in the room before Biden made the momentous decision to withdraw U.S. troops from Afghanistan.

CNN anchor Dana Bash simply asked: “Afghanistan, are you the last person in the room?”

“Yes,” Harris replied.

“So do you feel comfortable?” Bash asked, to which Harris replied, “Yes.”

House Speaker Mike Johnson took to social media on Monday to share a portion of the infamous CNN interview.

“Three years ago today, Kamala Harris was proud to be the last person to make the decision that left 13 American soldiers dead and many more wounded in Kabul,” wrote Pennsylvania Republican Senate candidate Dave McCormick.

Jason Miller, a senior adviser to the Trump campaign, said Harris had “bragged about her role in front of the cameras” before posting the incriminating video, which was also posted by RNC Research, an account run by the Republican National Committee.

Radio host Tom Shattuck, referring to Harris’ refusal to give interviews or hold press conferences since emerging as the Democratic presidential nominee, responded, “Maybe she should answer a question or two about that.”

“Democrats will try to manipulate your memory to make it seem like Kamala wasn’t the incumbent, but she was making decisions in the Biden administration,” one Trump supporter responded.

“She was so proud of herself,” added another Trump supporter.

“Today we mourn the 13 Americans lost as a result of the Biden-Harris Administration’s abysmal intelligence and operational failure at Abbey Gate. President Trump laid a wreath at the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier today in honor of 13 heroes, while Biden is on a beach and Harris has said nothing. It’s been three years since Harris said she had no regrets about the failure to withdraw from Afghanistan, and there’s still no accountability,” Rep. Matt Gaetz (R-Fla.) wrote.

Trump also highlighted the vice president’s comment that she was the last person in the room before Biden made his decision on Afghanistan.

Harris’ role in Afghanistan withdrawal remains mysterious despite ‘final sit-down’ with Biden

“She bragged that she would be the last person left in the room, and she was right. She was the last person left in the room when Mr. Biden and they made the decision to withdraw troops from Afghanistan,” he said at a rally in North Carolina last week. “She had the final vote. She had the final say and she was totally in favor of it.”

Many others have also criticized Harris’ role.
