The search for Vice President Kamala Harris’ running mate is fast approaching completion, with Democrats divided over who should join her on the running.
Pennsylvania Gov. Josh Shapiro is widely considered the front-runner, but he reportedly interviewed several finalists on Sunday. Harris is scheduled to make her first public appearance with her running mate at a rally in Philadelphia on Tuesday.
The three candidates Harris spoke with on Sunday were Shapiro, Minnesota Governor Tim Walz and Arizona Sen. Mark Kelly, according to CNN.
Democratic figures are deeply divided over who would be the best candidate to keep Harris’ momentum going into Election Day.

The diversity of the candidates suggests that Harris recognizes she needs a running mate who can help her appeal to more moderate voters, given her far-left voting record in the Senate.
“I think she needs to pick somebody who’s more moderate than she is. I think she needs to pick somebody who has a lot of experience governing at the ground level,” former New Jersey Gov. Chris Christie said on ABC News’ “This Week.”
