Harrison Ford Critiques Donald Trump Over Climate Change
Harrison Ford, the star of “Indiana Jones,” expressed his strong disapproval of former President Donald Trump in an interview with the Guardian, describing Trump as “the greatest criminal in history.” Ford pointed to Trump’s lack of action on climate change as a primary concern, stating that the President operates without concrete policies, only whims, which he finds quite alarming.
Ford’s commentary was blunt: “It’s unbelievable,” he remarked, emphasizing that Trump’s approach is driven by ignorance and arrogance. He accused Trump of enriching himself while neglecting pressing global issues, notably climate change.
On Climate Change Actions
The actor criticized Trump’s “drill, baby, drill” mantra, asserting that it won’t succeed. Instead, he retained a sense of hope that humanity could adapt and innovate to combat climate issues if there’s a will to do so. “We can buy time to change behavior,” he mentioned, underlining the necessity for political commitment and a deeper understanding of renewable energy.
Ford also commented on Trump’s disdain for wind turbines, suggesting that it stems from a lack of exposure to successful implementations of such technology, humorously adding, “he’s never seen a gold wind turbine.”
Political Engagement
Ford has long been critical of Trump, having publicly supported Kamala Harris as a 2024 presidential candidate. In a campaign video, he stated, “Kamala Harris will protect your right to disagree with her on policies,” highlighting the importance of open discourse in politics.
In past interviews, he lamented the growing divide in society, pointing out how “the rich get richer and the poor get poorer.” This disparity, he insists, is not just an economic issue but a moral one. Ford’s candid observations reflect ongoing frustrations many feel about the current state of politics and leadership.
He concluded by suggesting that the fragmented political landscape makes it difficult to find common ground, but he believes a focus on economic inequality could be a unifying theme.
