Generational Humor on a Plane
What began as a straightforward discussion about unplugging during flights quickly turned into a humorous generational misunderstanding. Cherie Cora, from the show *Shrinking* Season 3, shared her thoughts on how she disconnects when traveling. However, her choice of words led to some confusion for Harrison Ford.
During an appearance on SiriusXM, Cherie Cora mentioned her practice of, well, doing nothing on a plane. “I just do it – here’s the thing. We always do our best, right? Sometimes we need silence and solitude. It’s like sitting on a plane and just staring blankly… We call this ‘live flight.’”
As she tried to clarify this term, Ford jumped in.
“That doesn’t mean ‘raw dog,’” he awkwardly chimed in. When the host, Nicole Ryan, playfully encouraged further explanation, Ford replied, “They told me a little late. It really didn’t happen, so why would I come across something like that…”
Ryan added, “It’s despicable. It’s dirty.”
Christa Miller, Cora’s co-star, pointed out, “You’re married. You don’t have to worry about that.”
Ford seemed a bit overwhelmed, saying, “I’m done with this part of everyone’s life. I have five kids. People say, ‘I never have,’ but what does this mean? Why do you make me do this?” His frustration was palpable, yet it revealed a generational divide.
This exchange humorously echoed a scene from Season 1 of *Shrinking*, where Ford’s character mistakenly used the term “raw dog,” thinking that “bareback” meant just talking to someone unwanted.
Many fans know Ford from iconic roles, especially as Han Solo in *Star Wars*, but his career spans back to the late 1960s. In recent times, Ford has ventured into television with *Shrinking* on Apple TV+. There, he plays Dr. Paul Rose, a therapist dealing with both his patients and his own challenges related to Parkinson’s disease.
