Harry Styles calls for respect and fairness after ICE injures immigrant

Foreign National Shot by ICE Had Previous Police Encounters

During a recent report, it was brought to light that a foreign national, shot by Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE), had a history of interactions with law enforcement. This incident took place in New York City, where the foreign national, who was involved in a shooting incident, had a notable past with police, according to ICE.

In related news, singer Harry Styles paused his concert at Madison Square Garden on Saturday to speak about the shooting of Oscar Belgal, a Dominican immigrant who was shot by federal immigration agents. He emphasized the need for compassion towards people from various backgrounds and called for justice and dignity.

Styles addressed the audience after mentioning Belgal, a 28-year-old man, who was shot during an arrest operation while his son sat in the backseat of the car. “I want us to think about Oscar Belgal tonight, and I hope we can look after each other,” Styles stated. He urged the crowd to remember that everyone is deserving of respect and kindness, irrespective of their background.

Belgal’s shooting has sparked protests and harsh words from New York officials, including Mayor Zohran Mamdani. The mayor condemned the actions of ICE, stating the agency is “rotten to its core.” He noted that Belgal was shot after allegedly not complying with the agents during an arrest attempt, during which he is said to have driven towards them, leading to the shooting. Mamdani expressed his disappointment about the incident and even called for Belgal’s release during a news conference.

In defending the shooting, a senior ICE official claimed the agents were acting out of a belief that their lives were in jeopardy. He stated they utilized their training to handle the situation. Officials also mentioned they were not aware of Belgal’s son being present in the vehicle at the time. Thankfully, the child was unharmed in the incident.

The Department of Homeland Security revealed that Belgal had a prior record that included a grand larceny conviction, along with previous arrests for various offenses. There were also allegations of his connections to a street gang.

A federal judge has now temporarily blocked Belgal’s deportation as he challenges his detention, and body camera footage documenting the incident has been released by the New York Police Department.
