Harvard Employs Individual Who Attacked Israeli Student After Trump Suggested His Expulsion

Harvard Hires Graduate Involved in Assault Incident

Harvard University has reportedly employed one of its graduates who faced charges for assaulting an Israeli student during protests that followed Hamas’s terrorist attack on October 7.

Elom Tettei-Tamaclo was charged with misdemeanor assault and battery after an incident at a “die-in” protest in October 2023. Following the charge, he was required to undergo anger management classes and complete 80 hours of community service.

Despite the legal proceedings that lasted over a year, during which the Trump administration requested his expulsion from Harvard, the university opted to hire him instead.

As noted on his LinkedIn profile, Tettei-Tamaclo began working as a teaching fellow at Harvard’s Graduate School in August, although it’s unclear which specific department he’s associated with. His LinkedIn indicates this role is intended to be “full-time” and “on-site.”

Interestingly, the Ivy League institution chose not to impose any additional academic penalties on Tettei-Tamaclo, who managed to maintain a positive relationship with the university throughout his criminal trial.

Moreover, the office of the Suffolk County District Attorney raised concerns about Harvard’s lack of cooperation regarding the assault investigation, suggesting it delayed criminal processes and hindered the identification of other possible offenders.
